My last outfit may have been all about the men-inspired look, but that doesn’t stop me from playing dress up from time to time. Taking out a summer-esque wardrobe for one last spin (thanks to the unbelievable weather we’ve had last week), I’m sharing one of my fave skirts of all time. Circle skirts are no easy to feat to pull off, especially for a girl like me (I’m a bit on the stockier side). The key to making this look work? A belt. Cinch the waist for that hourglass shape.
The floral lace design is one of the reasons why I bought this piece, so to make sure I get a lot of wear out of it, I love teaming this skirt with a casual tee for the everyday. Paired with an ultra blingin’ statement necklace, I chose a sheer navy top to adds a hint of sultriness to juxtapose this rather feminine skirt. But making sure my overall outfit was not too OTT for the daytime (what, you mean regular people don’t wear this to lunch?), I opted for a relatively neutral palette in the accessories department – casual heeled sandals, a leather satchel and a vintage pair of sunglasses – to tone down the look only just a tad. No one said anything about blending into the crowd.
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Haven’t done an outfit of the day for quite some time! Sorry for the hiatus, but getting together with my lil sis this study week has definitely inspired us to blog some of our winter essentials!
Sported this outfit when I went for afternoon tea with my best friends yesterday for a really really late Christmas gift exchange. Even though we only see each other literally 5 times a year, it seems like only yesterday when the 4 of us were sitting in our high school cafeteria talking and laughing about random things. Love these girls to death!
Winter outfits for me consist of layers layers layers! I love starting with a thin t-shirt and then layer a chunky knit sweater over that and then an oversized coat over that. Add a scarf to accessorize keep my neck warm and ta-da! Ready for the cold weather!
How do you like to keep warm during these cold wintery days?
