STYLE MUSE :: Joe Fresh Style Contest

Hi everyone,

Happy Halloween!

Who’s excited to get dressed up? I know I am! So what’s everyone dressing up as this year? Do share!

So remember a few weeks ago we mentioned how one of our Style Muses, Mel, is going through a Joe Fresh #FreshStyle contest hosted by Campus Perks? Well…she made it to Top 10! We’re beyond excited for her and MUSE Magazine!

So for this round, each contestant was given a Joe Fresh gift card to purchase a couple of pieces to style in their own way. The winner will win $1000 that will go towards a fashion show or other cultural event. In Mel’s case, the money will go towards the printing of the university’s fashion and arts magazine, Muse Magazine.

So without further ado, this is how Mel styled her pieces!

Mel is just amazing at layering necklaces. It definitely gives a chic lift to this casual outfit!

Who is loving this burgundy/wine colour this season? I too bought myself a pair of jeans in this colour because it’s honestly the perfect Fall colour. Also, may I add that it’s surprisingly versatile!

So all we need is your support! It would be amazing if you all could just click on the link and vote for Mel’s style! If you’re also interested, you can view all the other entries for the Joe Fresh #FreshStyle Contest here too!

Vote for Mel!

STYLE MUSE :: Neon Sweater x Vintage Moschino Bag

Hi everyone,

How is everyone’s week so far?
Can’t believe it’s already Thursday. It’s so nice to have the Monday off. It just makes the week that much more bearable.

So I recently did a photo shoot of one our lovely Style Muses, Mel, for this Joe Fresh #FreshStyle competition hosted by Campus Perks. Basically, she has to go through 3 rounds, and if she wins, $1000 will go towards her university’s fashion and arts magazine, Muse Magazine.

The rule for this round was to just create a fall-inspired outfit. If you’ve been following us on Instagram, you would have seen the number of outfit changes we went through. In the end, we decided on this one because you can never go wrong with a bit of neon, some leather, and layering pieces.

Since Mel made it to the Top 20, I’ll actually be shooting her again soon for Round 2. Crossing fingers for her so she’ll make it to Top 10! We’ll definitely keep you posted! =)

Style Muse :: Meet Kat

Hi everybody,

We could not be more excited to share a little something special with you today. For our style muses with inspiring careers, we’ve decided to include some questions of style!
So meet Kat. She’s got a pretty epic job as a men’s booker at one of Canada’s top model agency, Elmer Olsen Model Management where she helps manage the intense schedules of their agency’s male models on a national and international stage. When she’s not taking care of her adorable bunnies or watching classic black & white movies, she manages her personal blog, Portrait of a Tailored Girl, where she uses it as an outlet to find inspiration and share her personal style. She’s one of the most stylish “real life” girl I have ever known. She honestly reminds me of someone who stepped out of a 60s movie. She is someone who would go to an outdoor picnic in a Jackie O inspired dress accessorized with a pearl necklace and obnoxious white retro sunglasses (think Johnny Depp in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and work it. So lucky for us, she’s here to share her style inspirations, her fashion finds, and her words of wisdom with us.
